The Hydra Data Leakage Vulnerability Test System
Hydra is a system that enables enterprises to assess their level of vulnerability to network data leakage. The system, which is available complimentary from Fidelis Security Systems, includes a client component that runs on a Windows computer connected to the network under test and a server component that is hosted by Fidelis on the public internet. During a test, the Hydra client attempts to send simulated sensitive information to the server and reports the results.
Why Use Hydra?
Hydra is an excellent tool for conducting formal or informal data leakage vulnerability assessments and for evaluating network data leakage prevention products.

Features
- Send simulated personally identifiable information (PII) in a variety of formats
- Send PII over any or all TCP ports using one or a combination of port selection algorithms (sequential, random, selected)
- Send your own test files over any combination of ports
Requirements
- To install and run, the Hydra client requires a Windows PC with the Microsoft .NET framework 2.0 or later (the vast majority of Windows PCs meet this requirement). If you do not have the Microsoft .NET framework installed, you can download and install it from Microsoft (click here).
- The client must be run from a PC connected directly to the network under test and must be able to make outbound network connections on all ports (note: PC based firewalls must be disabled or configured to "always allow" Hydra to make outbound network connections).
- Hydra client must be registered and activated to be enabled.
- The client requires a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.
Support
- The Hydra data leakage vulnerability test system is a test tool that Fidelis makes freely available. It is not an officially supported product. If you have questions about Hydra, please send email to hydra@fidelissecurity.com.
