Fidelis SCIP Demo Client

Fidelis SCIP Demo Client

The Fidelis XPS Connect product supports a network based Application Programming Interface (API) called the Simple Content Inspection Protocol (SCIP) which exposes the Fidelis XPS document decoding, content analysis and policy technologies to external applications through a simple programmatic interface. Using Fidelis XPS Connect and SCIP, application programmers can build content-aware applications easily, quickly and with minimal development expense.

Fidelis provides several tools to help solution architects and application programmers design and implement SCIP-enabled solutions. These include:

  • A technical white paper that covers the architecture of the Fidelis XPS Connect products and the SCIP protocol in detail;
  • Source code examples of SCIP interface implementations;
  • A Fidelis XPS Connect system on the public Internet for SCIP demonstration, development and test purposes;
  • A functional SCIP demonstration client program.

The Fidelis SCIP Demo Client is an excellent tool for learning the SCIP protocol. The program, which is implemented in VB.NET and runs on Microsoft Windows, is a fully functional SCIP client that generates SCIP requests, sends them to a Fidelis XPS Connect system, and displays the requests and responses. The SCIP Demo Client program can be used in conjunction with the Fidelis XPS Connect system that's connected to the Internet.

Features

  • Send text content, a single file, or multiple files to the SCIP server in the form of a well-formatted SCIP request.
  • View the actual SCIP protocol requests and responses exactly as they were sent and received.
  • Create your own "raw" SCIP protocol requests, send them to the SCIP server and observe the responses.

Requirements

  • The Fidelis SCIP Demo Client requires a Windows PC with the Microsoft .NET framework installed (the vast majority of Windows PCs meet this requirement).
  • The client must have a Fidelis XPS Connect system to communicate with. Fidelis maintains an XPS Connect system on the public Internet for this purpose.
